Professor Joshua S.L. Wong BSc(Eng), PhD, FHKIE, CEng, FIEE
Professor Wong has been IAM’s Academic Consultant since 2002. Besides influencing the organisations strategic direction and shaping its operational policies, Professor Wong’s primary role is quality assurance, making sure our teaching and learning remains of the requisite standard for today’s demanding managers and tomorrow’s inspirational leaders. At present, he is also Independent Non Executive Director of Suga International Holdings Limited, President of the Semiconductor Industry Council of the Electronic Industry Association, and Professor Emeritus of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Previously, Professor Wong was Vice President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (1990-2000), President of the Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (1988-89), Associate Professor of California State University Los Angeles (1968-74), and Commonwealth Scholar (1962-1965). He obtained his BSc(Eng) degree from the University of Hong Kong with First Class Honours, and his PhD degree from the University of Leeds, UK. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, UK and a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Despite the number of interesting challenges he has experienced during his long career, Professor Wong maintains that his present association with IAM is among the most satisfying.
